Blush is one of my absolute favourite colours. The softness and the hint of pretty that it brings to a room or outfit is just so lovely. I know it can be considered girly but before you switch off it doesn’t have to be all out feminine. A subtle touch with some monochrome or within a print is a lovely addition to any room. Of course if you want to go all out girly with frills and tutus then I’m good with that too.

We aren’t the only one’s talking Blush today. Over on Rock My Style it’s blush interiors and on Rock My Wedding it’s all the pretty for your big day which I will certainly be using as inspiration for some wonderful birthdays or baby showers.

Blush Nursery Colour Combinations

Firstly, as I mentioned above you could go all out pretty and I for one know Molly would be in heaven with a completely blush girly room. In fact her bedroom has got the prettiest shade on the walls. However, I am more for mixing it in with some other colours for a more subtle scheme.

The classic Blush and Grey colour combo never fails. Whether you opt for a subtle dove grey or a darker charcoal it brings a nice contrast to the blush.

In pulling together this post I have totally fallen in love with a bit of blush and monochrome. There is still a lot of love for a monochrome nursery but adding a touch of blush can soften it slightly whilst keeping the look modern.

Finally I am a big fan of blush and soft mint green. I used these colours in Molly’s room and they work really well together.

Walls & Furniure

When it comes to the walls you could paint all the walls in soft blush or opt for one of the complimentary neutral colours. For a soft blush then Dulux Blossom White is a really subtle colour or Farrow and Ball Peignoir has more grey undertones. For more paint choices then have a peek at Rock My Style who did the hard work for us with their testing of Blush Pink paints. I also love the twist of keeping the walls white and painting the ceiling blush. It’s a great option if you have high ceilings and a picture rail.

I am also a huge fan of wallpaper and the beautiful Ferm Living Dotty Rose is just beautiful or the Rabbit wallpaper with it’s blush take on monochrome is more modern but still super cute.

Adding in prints is a fantastic way of adding some blush hues without committing to the more permanent paint option. I particularly love the prints at This Modern Life and the alphabet or Polar Bear are subtle ways of adding a touch of blush.

Ikea have the most gorgeous wardrobe and chest of drawers that would add a hit of colour. Or how about painting a wardrobe or chest of drawers in a soft blush to create a unique piece of furniture or adding some pretty handles. I have had these on gorgeous M&S door knobs for some time now but also adore these more fun Bloomingville face door knobs with a touch of blush on the cheeks.

Textiles

A few little blankets or cushions in blush shades are not only pretty but also practical. Prop them on chairs for night time feeds or as playmats on the floor.

When it comes to bedding I can’t help but be drawn to the beautiful scandi style prints. If you loved the Ferm Living Rabbit wallpaper but thought it may be too much then you’ll be pleased to know they do a range of bedding to match. Lorna found the most beautiful Swan bedding at the Tipi and I am a little bit in love. Now I realise these are a bit pricey so for a more budget option then I was rather impressed to find this cute cloud print set in Ikea for the bargain price of £13.

I am also a big fan of Nobodinoz for their graphic prints in the prettiest shades. In fact I’m eyeing up a few cushions and rugs for Alice’s rooms. At just over £10 the scale print cushion will add a nice bit of colour to a reading nook or chair and the blanket looks super snuggly.

Mamas and Papas are absolutely killing it with their new collection. I want it all. These sleeping bags feature not only blush but hedgehogs and chevrons too. Amazing. The coverlets look beautiful in a cot and I’m torn between the blush and grey or the blush, mint and yellow. For the floor add a rug in the softest shades.

Finally this gorgeous soft blush swaddle from Archies Boutique is practical but would also look beautiful hung on a hook as per some of the inspiration images in the gallery.

Accessories

The possibilities are endless here with a myriad of beautiful pieces that you can accessorise the room with.

Firstly storage is not only practical but can be pretty too. These bunny face bags would be super cute for storing nappies or those little essentials.

Get some blush in the room with some sweet lighting. The Ferm Living hot air balloon lamp is utterly adorable and would be perfect for story time. Or for a table lamp this Made.com blush lamp is a good choice.

Back to my current obsession of Mamas and Papas for this amazing bunny head wall hanging. With grey and little touches of the softest pink it would suit many a nursery scheme.

Garlands are a super cute way of adding some details and I am slightly in love with the feather hanging mobiles in the gallery above. Just beautiful. These star garlands from Numero 74 would look lovely strung by a cot or under a shelf or a cute name bunting from Obiora is a great gift for a new baby.

Quite simply you could just display some of those gorgeous teeny tiny baby clothes and shoes. They are a wonderful reminder of when they were really small.

Has anyone gone blush in their nursery or considering it?
