I have hijacked all three blogs today. Apologies in advance that this is possibly not the feature you were expecting this morning.

Today we officially launch the pre-order of my book “Your Day Your Way” on Amazon, the actual release date is 9th February 2017.

I know many of you will have discovered this family blog via your journey through reading Rock My Wedding and/or Rock My Style so I wanted to share with as many of our community as possible, what a significant day this is for the Rock My brand.

I personally believe in the security and whole-ness that marriage brings to two people. However, it may surprise you to know that considering my chosen career path, I don’t think it’s an absolutely necessary to have to sign a legally binding document to want to stay with someone for ever and always. Do with that piece of information what you will.

I can put my hand on my heart and say that up until the moment my daughter was born, my wedding was the best day of my life. It was everything my husband and I ever wanted and more. An intimate celebration with all of our favourite people filled with music, joy and laughter. We watch our wedding film every year and re-live the moments, champagne-fuelled and all. We hope to watch it with Mabel one day soon when she will have at least a little understanding of what she’s actually viewing on screen.

I don’t mind admitting that a few years ago I lost my motivation mojo somewhat, there seemed to be an insubordinate workload yet no real sense of achievement or purpose. I can’t explain why exactly, I’ve half concluded it was a combination of exhaustion and disillusionment with seemingly never having any time to see my friends or spend time with my husband. Running a business no matter how creative and seemingly full of thrills and frills on the surface, can only be truly enjoyable if you are not doing it 24/7.

And then there was Mabel.

Without any doubt, confusion or hesitation upon her arrival everything became perfectly clear. I do this for her, I want her to be proud of her Mum and believe that she too can fulfil her dreams, whatever they may evolve to be. I work harder and smarter than ever before. And I take time off. Evenings, weekends, holidays – they are almost always my own, I make it work because time spent with my family always comes first.

My book is possibly the most challenging project of my life so far, and I couldn’t have achieved the finished product without the dedication of my talented team, the advice of a whole host of experienced industry suppliers and an extraordinarily supportive publisher.

But most of all I couldn’t have done it without my daughter. She is my biggest inspiration. My ray of sunshine when the list of tasks seem endless and impossible. I have never known love like it.

I have dedicated the book to her, and one day I hope she too will find her happy-ever-after, whomever that may involve.

I haven’t yet received a full coffee-table copy of the book in all of it’s linen and foil embossed cover glory (oh yes – our publisher have gone to town on the fancy folks!) but I have tried to explain to Mabel that Mummy has her very own book and I hope that one day she might like to read it.

Mabel: “Does it have toys in it?”

Erm no…..

Does it have Ben and Holly in it?

No, definitely not.

Oh. Does it have a train in it?

Nope, no train, but it does feature some fairly impressive cakes?

Oh good. I really like cake Mummy.
