I’m still a bit in shock that it is 2017 but excited for all the fun plans and adventures we are hopefully going to have.

After all the chaos of Christmas January is going to be a slow one. Lots of cosying down by the fire and bundling up warm for winter walks. There are no major plans or outings for January in our household but I’m actually excited for these small things:

  • We are going to be booking our summer holiday as soon as possible. Now we are restricted to school holidays (give or take a few cheeky days) we are resigned to the fact that it is going to be pricey and I’m just going to have to not look when I hand over the credit card. We are planning on going back to the same hotel we visited last year in Gran Canaria. It was so much fun and the girls loved it. I’m already mentally shopping for our summer wardrobes. Only five months to go.
  • Later this month I’m going on a photography course and I’m so excited to learn how to use my camera properly. When we had the girls we invested in a fancy DSLR and although it takes amazing pictures without me doing much I can’t wait to know how to get the most out of it. Photo’s are so important to me and I’m hoping I will be snapping away non stop after this.
  • The cold days and dark evenings mean the girls will be confined to the house after school so we are going to be pulling out the craft kits and making all manner of glittery creations. Molly has so far requested princess crowns and Alice wants to make a snow horse…. Best get my thinking cap on.
  • It has been such a ridiculously long time since I had a girly weekend that we vowed to get one booked in this month. I’m planning on heading down to London to stay with friends as it has been far too long. As Edd works there most of the week the last thing he wants to do at the weekend is go back down so I’m going solo. We plan to have a good old gossip, drink cocktails and eat fancy afternoon teas. Bliss.
  • Finally I’m actually looking forward to reading a few good books. Snuggling under the duvet and reading a few chapters is how I love to wind down at the end of the day. I need to make some new purchases though so all recommendations welcome.

What are you up to this month? Any exciting plans afoot?
