This party is all kinds of wow. I am in no way saying that every kids party should look like this (I only wish mine did!) but my gosh I just had to share it with you. I would be happy if my wedding had looked like this let alone a birthday bash. Can you imagine the excitement of the children turning up for this party? With our favourite planners One Stylish Day at the helm it was always going to be an amazing day and the images by the brilliant Kate Nielen make me wish I’d been there.

I do think it is a magical theme for a children’s party and one which you could adapt yourselves. Think picnics in the garden, fairy hunts and lots of jugs of wild flowers. You could have all sorts of fun crafts like making fairy gardens or decorating flowerpots as fairy houses and plenty of musical games. I know my girls would love it. Also the fancy dress opportunities are endless and I know Molly especially would adore donning a flower crown and fairy wings before dancing the afternoon away.

To plan a birthday celebration for a child is an absolute dream come true, the opportunity for true magic is endless… creating and designing a birthday party for 3 children is pure joy!
The brief was whimsical, magical, enchanted, expect the unexpected. A midsummer Nights dream.
I selected The Orangery at Holland Park in London as the venue and it could not have been a more idyllic setting. Once the conservatory of Holland house, this glass and white brick palace is the perfect blank canvas space, set within the stunning gardens of Holland Park along with it’s res- ident peacocks.

The invitations set the tone of the event. An ethereal and elegant bespoke illustration of the birth- day children amongst magical creatures accompanied by a riddle, inviting guests to join them in the Orangery woods, where the trees are alive and the fairies cheer! The bespoke illustration by The North Doodle Co. featured throughout all the stationery elements and signage for the day.

As guests arrived they were greeted by fairies, nymphs and fawns performing acrobatics, playing musical instruments, juggling and performing a bubble show. The children (and some adults!) em- braced the party spirit and dressed up in flower crowns, fairy wings, crowns and capes. The chil- dren enjoyed magical party games, a treasure hunt, piñatas and an enchanted animal corner.
The Orangery was transformed into a magical woodland. Branches and beautiful blossoms creeped up the walls and the tables were decorated with terrariums. Large balloons filled with magic fairy dust and greenery tails filled the space and brought the outside in. The party continued into the gardens where a statement moss covered chair, trailing with flowers featured beneath the enchanted tree and provided the best photo opportunity!

The children dined at magical wooden benches stretching the length of the outdoor marquee, adorned with potted plants and succulents whilst foliage balloons filled the roof.
