Could it be a miracle August Bank Holiday weekend where the sun actually shines? Or will the good old British rain turn up and ruin the fun. I’m staying firmly in the positive camp and keeping my fingers crossed for sunshine, ice cream and oodles of new memories with the little ones.

Here’s a little taster of what the team are all up to over the long weekend.

Lottie

We had originally planned a little weekend getaway to the beach. Possibly Cornwall or Wales but somewhere that the girls could splash in the sea and eat too many ice creams. However, as is always the way with kids those plans changed. Last week we found out Molly needed to have her Tonsils and Adenoids removed and the operation date was, you guessed it, the Friday of Bank Holiday weekend. As I type this Molly is happily munching jelly and ice cream and all seems to have gone well. She’s been a little trooper despite having what the Doctor said were the largest tonsils he had seen in 16 years! So our weekend is going to be spent lounging on the sofa with DVD’s and treats. Alice will need to get out and about so there will be trips to the park for her and I’m thinking I may take the opportunity to hit the shops. I feel in need of some retail therapy. I’m pretty sure there will be ice cream involved but sadly just not on the beach.

Lolly

We don’t really have any exciting Bank Holiday plans as we’ll be busy packing for our Italian holiday next week. As Ste will be breaking out the concrete floor at our house in preparation for the next stage in our house build, Hector and I will be braving the changeable weather and perhaps nipping to the park for a bit of swing and slides action sans Daddy. That said Ste and I have been invited to a champagne themed party on Sunday night which we’ve been looking forward to as our last ‘date night’ was two months ago! Finally Hector will be having the tiniest tidying up haircut on Monday which I’m bricking myself about – rest assured the curls will be staying but hopefully it will look a bit neater in time for the beach.

Fern

We’re hoping to spend as much time as possible at the beach, so fingers crossed for good weather. Elle is obsessed with playing in the waves and building sand castles (read eating sand) so it keeps her entertained for hours and then she usually passes out for a long nap from all of the sea air. It’s been lovely to have family down to Cornwall a lot over the summer holidays, but the last few weekends including this one are just us three (four) and it has been so relaxing. Hope everyone has a great weekend planned!

Charlotte

This weekend we’re going to Feastival with some friends and their son. It will be the first ‘big’ event like this we’ve taken Mabel to and due to the rather random weather forecast, I feel my rucksack packing becoming increasingly ridiculous (!)

On Sunday we’re seeing some friends and their daughter that we haven’t seen in ages and then on Monday it’s officially ‘Potty Training Day’. Throughout all of these adventures there will obviously be wine. Possibly more than a glass or two. Have a lovely bank holiday all! X
