The girls have to have a cuddly toy for Christmas each year. It’s as obligatory as the chocolate coins and satsuma in the stocking in our house. I love hunting out something sweet that they will treasure all year round. I don’t always go all out Christmas. In fact last year they had Fraggles (Edd’s choice!) so as far away from Christmas as you can get.

In the interest of sharing the cuddly love I thought I would find some of my favourites for you all. Many are small enough to pop at the top of the stocking too.

Festive

It would be wrong of me not to start with a festive selection for you. So many festive friends are waiting out there for you.

First up is the obligatory Jellycat Reindeer with his fun antlers and cosy fur. If your little one is as much of a Jellycat fan as mine then how about a fuddlewuddle donkey?

Marks and Spencer have an gorgeous mummy and baby penguin and a sweet reindeer that would look adorable come Christmas morning.

Wilko’s knitted gingerbread man is a steal at £3.50 and as one of Alice’s story is the gingerbread man (what is it with her and biscuits?!) this may be making it’s way in to her stocking.

We have a vast collection of Maileg mice in our house. Yes they may be because I love them but they are so utterly adorable. I am not sure how we don’t yet have the angel mouse. I feel this must be rectified immediately.

Also this Maileg Polar Bear. That is all I’m saying.

Teddy Bears

You can’t really go wrong with a teddy bear. Universally loved by children they are sure to become a firm favourite at bedtime.

Each Christmas since they were born their Grandad has bought them a beautiful Steiff teddy. Not the traditional ones but the new cuddly versions. They adore them.

I love Maileg toys. A lot. They are utterly charming and beautifully made. This sweet teddy available at Archies Boutique is most definitely on my wish list.

The Ragtale characters have a touch of whimsy about them with their sweet little outfits and woodland pals. This baby Darcy bear is sure to make a cute cuddly friend.

Finally I am loving Mamas and Papas at the moment. They have really upped their game and the toys are following suit. This bear is adorable with his fun fur hood.

Woodland

Woodland characters make up a large proportion of the girls toys. I’m not sure why but they do and I always think there is something quite wintery about them.

This sweet Bambi Deer from Bobby Rabbit would be ideal in a stocking, or as a gift for that matter.

Back to Jelly Cat but this time their Cordyroy Fox. I love this range and the textured fabric gives a great sensory element for the little ones.

I’m a big fan of crochet toys. I’m always trying to convince my mum to make something wonderful for the girls. On Molly’s birthday she had the most amazing knitted teddy bear complete with knitted outfits. Anyway, back to the crochet and the super sweet rabbit from Molly Meg.

This Mama’s and Papas Squirrel is the perfect woodland pal, as is Blanche the Deer from the Moulin Roty range at Alex and Alexa.

Dolls

There is some serious cuteness on the doll front. Molly has a vast collection of Marks and Spencer rag dolls and I have to say they are really lovely quality. This fairy doll is the perfect Christmas addition.

Not On The High Street can be relied on for a little personalisation and this sweet Christmas angel would make a gorgeous gift.

Once again I shall rave about Mamas and Papas. This doll is reminiscent of boutique brands but at a fraction of the price. It is definitely going on my shopping list for future gift purchases.

Bobby Rabbit Kids is one of my new favourites for all manner of ‘you need to buy this now’ ness. Honestly, so good. Their Eloise Doll is a lovely option for little ones. Also, I’d really rather like her mustard sweater and tutu combo for myself.

Cats and Dogs

I had to include a few four legged friends. Have you heard of Rock My Pet yet?!

Anyway, these quirky little kitten and puppy toys are super stylish, fun and small enough to fit in the stocking. And best of all only £4 from Marks and Spencer.

I also very much like Florrie The Cat, also from M&S.

Finally this cute Maileg cat from Archies Boutique may have been purchased for the girls stockings. They are going to love playing with it. It’s small enough to carry around with them on trips out too.

Just For Fun

Finally a few extra toys, just because. Those weird and wonderful creatures that every kid loves.

This dinosaur from Acorn and Pip has been gifted to many of our friends when they had babies. It became somewhat a tradition that they all got a dino. No idea why but I love them.

Also, this mermaid. Immense. Yes it is pricey but I can dream can’t I? Oh, sorry, I mean Molly would love it.

For a super sweet little stocking filler then these mini dinos from Numero 74 at Molly Meg are a snip at just over £3 each.

Or how about a wooly mammoth?

And then there is the unicorn. The most magical of mythical creatures and this crochet version is utterly adorable.
