If you love interiors and decorating, or just need a little push to finish your latest project, then we have got a super exciting new Rock My Room challenge launching today over on Rock My Style.

Lauren has challenged herself to transform the living room in her new house in just 28 days and she is asking you to join in too. So whether you need to get a nursery ready for a new arrival or revamp the little’s room then we’d love you to take part.

It doesn’t even have to be a huge project. It could be something small like hanging some decorative touches or sorting the toy storage out. Whatever you are doing we really want to see. Simply tag us in on Instagram with #rockmyroom so we can take a sneaky peek.

Personally I am going to try to get Alice’s bedroom done (wish me luck!). I love how the room looks with its Ferm Living owl wallpaper but I feel it is time for a change. It’s been this way for over 4 years as it was previously Molly’s nursery so as a lover of all things interiors let’s just say I’m bored!

Alice has recently moved to a big girl bed so it seems the perfect opportunity. She also decided to pull one of her wall shelves off whilst trying to get a book so there is filling and repainting to be done anyway.

Here’s an idea of what I hope to do in the room.

  • Try and decide on a colour scheme from the many lovely pictures I have saved to my Pinterest board. I thought I had decided on a pale mint green and white effect but I’m now swaying towards a bit of a mixture of navy, peach and mustard! I am nothing but indecisive.
  • Remove the wallpaper. I’ll be sad to see the owls go but it’s time for a change. I’ll be choosing from the selection I shared a few weeks back.
  • Repaint the walls to freshen them up.
  • Commission a carpenter to build a new cupboard in to the alcove so that we can get rid of the wardrobe and chest of drawers and create more floor space.
  • Buy new bedding.
  • Put up shelves for displaying knick knacks (high enough up that she can’t pull them down again!)
  • Finally add some finishing touches with new pictures and prettiness.
  •
So if you need a bit of motivation let’s all do this together. Lauren will be sharing weekly updates of her progress over on Rock My Style and I’ll hopefully be able to share Alice’s new room with you all soon.
