You’ve probably all spied the Skittles experiment over on Pinterest and I can promise you it’s as fun as it looks. I was attracted by the bright colours and, yes I admit, the prospect of a few left over Skittles.

One afternoon I sat the girls down and they watched in wonder as the colours appeared before their eyes. It’s so good. Quite a few Skittles were consumed by Alice whilst I wasn’t looking!

Why not give it a try with your little ones.

What You Need

Bag of Skittles
Plate, ideally with a slight edge
Hot Water

What To Do

1. Place the Skittles around the edge of the plate. Keep them relatively close together but not touching. You want to try and mix up the colours so you don’t have two the same together but other than that keep them random. You can create a pattern if you like. Depends on your OCD tendencies!
2. Pour hot water carefully in to the centre of the plate. You only need a small amount so that it just reaches the Skittles.
3. Sit back and marvel as the rainbow appears.

Simple as that. Has anyone else given the Skittles experiment a try?
