I sometimes think that Father’s Day doesn’t get quite as much attention as Mother’s Day. Or maybe that is just my house? Then again I am obviously the one who does all the housework, looks after the kids and works as well so it’s only fair I get more recognition! Joke! Edd works so ridiculously hard to give us a nice life as a family and, yes, it means we don’t see him much in the week but I do appreciate it. He is also the most amazing Dad to Molly and Alice. Think the fun Dad who swings them super high, spends hours building lego and feeds them spaghetti hoops for lunch as he knows they love them. So this year I want to try that little bit harder and find a present that the girls can get him. I also need gifts for my own Dad so need to get shopping.

So in recognition of all the amazing Dad’s out there I’ve put together my round up of my favourite gifts from John Lewis for any Dad. So whether they are in to their rugby (that will be Edd), a connoisseur of alcohol (also Edd) or even have a penchant for posh socks (yep, Edd again!) there should be something in here for them.

The Foodie Dad

If you are looking for a taste bud tingling present there are some fantastic options out there. This is one for my Step Dad. He adores to cook. I’m not complaining as he will spend hours preparing a culinary masterpiece for us all so a few kitchen based treats will go down a storm. I promise I’m not just thinking about these so that he will do more cooking.

If they like a bit of spice then how about a chilli set? Ideal for adding to all manner of dishes and culinary creations.

You will have to try not to eat this chocolate yourself. Montezumas is one of my favourites and this chocolate library looks super delicious.

If cheese is their thing then this cheese slice and board is ideal and the perfect accompaniment is this trio of pate.

A fun little addition for lunches. I rather like this Brain Food box.

If they like a shot of coffee after dinner then how about a cute set of espresso cups.

The Dapper Dad

If you are looking for some fancy additions to his wardrobe or the perfect accessory then there is a plethora of choices.

Start small with some fancy new socks. I know it is a traditional ‘oh you got socks’ present but a nice set of Paul Smith socks will honestly go down a treat.

If you fancy getting a pair smart trainers then these soft Chambray blue ones from Toms are rather lovely.

Splash out on a pair of these Sweeney brogues. Ridiculously swish.

A good overnight bag is perfect for work trips or short breaks and this Ted Baker Pebble grain holdall is super fancy.

A good leather belt is a wardrobe staple and makes a nice gift. This brown leather one is smart enough for the office but also with jeans for a more casual look.

I am a little bit in love with this Copper cube pen myself. Seriously stylish and in on trend copper. It’s a winner in my books.

Stop them loosing all their cards in their pockets with a smart new Ted Baker wallet.

The Techie Dad

Is it just me who seems to have a house full of technology? And I’m not even sure what half of it does. Apparently it is essential though!

A good pair of headphones are a great option and these Sennheiser ones come highly recommend. Ideal for when the children are hogging the telly and you have to resort to the iPad or just need to listen to a bit of music in peace.

A portable bluetooth speaker is great for moving around the house or for long lazy days in the garden (we can buy dream). Also perfect for days out of holidays. The Beats Portable Bluetooth Speaker has a simple small design.

Over the last year I have bought both Edd and my Stepdad a personal radio. They both love them and use them continually when they are out in the garden doing jobs.

If you are like us the iPad seems to be constantly lost under a pile of toys or put safely somewhere that I can’t remember. This stylish tablet holder would solve that in a jiffy.

The Sporty Dad

If sport is his thing or he is just on a mission for fitness then there are plenty of great gifts.

A tad more pricey but Edd swears by his Garmin sports watch. Perfect for heading out for a run or to the gym it will help you keep your fitness on track. An alternative option is the ever popular Fitbit.

I quite fancy this gorgeous Herschel Bag for myself. Seems a bit too stylish for smelly gym kit!

A small gift but I have heard great things about the Bobble Bottle.

If you are splashing out and need a gift for an active dad then these Merrell walking shoes are great. Perfect for all those long walks with a small child on your back. Because obviously they don’t actually ever want to walk when you want them to!

We love our Nutri Bullet in our house. Perfect for smoothies and juices to get the day off to a good start. You can always steal it for yourself as well then.

My step Dad loves a good bike ride and often heads off for hours so this cycling survival kit would be a handy addition.

Edd never seems to have enough cufflinks and as rugby is his sport of choice these fun rugby ball cufflinks are ideal. Just choose the favourite sport and you are set.

The Alcohol Connoisseur

I’m pretty sure that an alcohol based gift will be rather popular with most men. It’s all about choosing what they love most.

I will normally buy Edd a few bottles of his favourite Bath Ales for birthdays and Christmas so this gift set would be rather well received.

I also seem to have a habit of smashing our wine glasses. I promise it’s when I’m washing up and not whilst drinking aforementioned wine. A new set of our favourite Riedel glasses would make it up and the bottle is an added bonus.

Edd seems to have developed a bit of a love of nice wines over recent years and spends ages choosing the right wine for when we have guests over. This sommelier kit might be a good choice.

A hip flask seems to be a popular gift for a lot of men. You could opt for a plain silver but I rather like this fabulous stag print Ted Baker one.

If your man is more of a cocktail kind of guy, or if you just want to encourage him to make them for you, then a nice cocktail shaker could be a fun gift.

For the Whisky connoisseurs then how about a gorgeous Whisky glass set coupled with some fun whisky stones and this innovative whisky wedge.

The Big Kid

More than anything else all Edd ever wants is some new Lego. I kid you not. If he doesn’t get a new lego set then he is the biggest grump. To make matters worse he doesn’t want a small piece, oh no, he wants the full on Millennium Falcon or some other equally giant set. I still can’t bring myself to spend that sum of money on it but will normally buy him a token Lego set mainly as it is actually something the girls like to get for him and help him build.

Something to play with the kids is Swingball. I loved this when I was younger and I’m sure that Dads would enjoy a good game.

Nerf Guns. If you’ve never had the pleasure of experiencing one you are in for a treat. Buy one for Dad and one for the kids and they can have the biggest water pistol fight in history. Just make sure you are well out the way.

If you don’t want to go for an actual toy then appeal to their inner kid with a fun Cross Marvel Iron Man pen.

So there you have some of my favourites. Hope it has provided a bit of inspiration and after all this I’m guessing I will end up buying lego!
